NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS.

A bank account is held at Lloyds TSB Gosforth for the deposit of funds. This is a current account with cheque facilities. A small amount of interest is paid on this account each month.

The authorised signatories are 1) Chairman 2) Treasurer 3) Secretary. Any two of the three named are required to sign a cheque.

If authorised purchases are made by a member of the HIB steering group this is reimbursed by the Treasurer upon presentation of a claim form together with receipts if available.

Goods can be purchased at Halls of Heddon garden centre and settlement of the account is made by the Treasurer directly to the company.

A small amount of cash is retained by the Treasurer for ease of payment.

Upon receiving donations of cash, The secretary will provide on behalf of H.I.B a receipt to the donor this being in the form of a letter.

The accounts are audited annually (year ending 31st August) by an independent person. and then presented to the Parish council for their information. The accounts are also placed on display at the HeddonVillage show.

With effect from Sept 2000 the accounts will also appear on the Heddon website.

Residents of Heddon will be provided with a copy if one is requested.

Heddon in Bloom is an independent group with the intention of improving the village environment.

No funding is provided by local authorities.

No member of the steering group benefits financially from being a member.
