22/01/00 - SAINTS MARCH ON.

The Saint Andrews teams (13-15yr olds) fought a derby battle on Saturday 22.1.00 with the Blue team coming away as victors, the sides were evenly matched with only a lucky break allowing for a single second half  goal divided the teams in this league match.

The Blue team went on to win their cup match by default when the opposition failed to show. The White team fell foul of the skills on show by league and cup favourites Holy Cross. Heddon were too slow and were left nursing a heavy defeat.

05/02/00 - Saints rise up the league.

St Andrews F.C teams continued to improve, after new style training sessions and the introduction of additional players to strengthen the teams the future looks bright. The Blue team continue their run of good results although they were reduced to 5 players and the White team appear to have overcome some elementary errors and make better use of their speed and skills. 

A record number of Heddon supporters witnessed some excellent football on exhibition.

19/02/00 Matches Cancelled.

The St Andrews teams have been strengthened by the introduction of new players bringing the squad up to a total of 16 registered lads between 13 & 15 years old. Saturdays (19.2.00) games were cancelled as the opposition were unable to field a full� side. So the new players debuts must wait another couple of weeks. Heddon won both games 5.0 by default which will assist them both in league placings. The Blue team consolidating their 3rd place with an outside chance of winning the championship and the White team edging away from the bottom.��� �

Blue 3 W/Bay B 2�� Blue 1 Holy Cross B 2 White 0 St Johns 1 White 0 Holy Cross A 2 � A disputed penalty decision resulted in Heddon Blue team losing a hard fought battle against league leaders Holy Cross B.but they rebounded to take all points from their second game. A lack of speed and power by the white team proved too much for them. Both teams must look closely at their passing and control if they are to head on up the league. Cup games in two weeks time may lead to some silver ware for the teams this season if commitment is given. A loyal band of supporters were present at the matches.

A revived� & new look formation saw the Heddon white team pull off the days greatest results when they beat the league leaders Holy cross b. and also held 2nd placed W/Bay to a goalless draw. A more positive approach and greater speed together with better tackling helped them pull off the results. the crowd roared loud when the final whistle blew. The blue team edged closer to a 2nd place position as the season nears the end, with all 6 points taken, including a win over St Johns who had knocked Heddon out of the Cup Competition. �

Although Heddon was understrength due to holidays and suffered an early injury to a player they managed to gain vital extra points. in addition to the above results each team was awarded their second game of the day as the opposition failed to provide a team. The white team were unlucky not to take all the points from their game but a momentary lack in concentration allowed the equaliser. Representatives from the club attended a church service for all the teams in the league on Sunday 16/4/00. ���������

As the football season is� nearly over St Andrews under 15yr olds. 6 a side football� teams fight on for� points that they need.last Saturday was a tough day for the Blue team as they faced the top two teams, with the Heddon lads keen to grab the points needed to cruise into second place. The White team fought hard to gain points to lift them towards a middle of the table position. � Both teams were reduced to 5 players due to family commitments and at one point the blue team were reduced even further due to an injured player being taken off. �

The final league placings for the two Heddon teams must wait until the last game of the season next Saturday.which will be very hard fought derby. a capacity crowd is expected. With poor results last week the Blue team are clinging onto the hope of a third place position and the coveted bronze medals. The white team still have a chance of lifting themselves up the league.����

The final game of this season was fought with vigour by both sides who were each clearly out to win. The game saw some goals of the season, This win clinched 3rd place in the league for the blue team. the season has left very few points difference between each of the clubs participating.
