WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

Heddon WI was founded in 1917 and was the first WI in Northumberland. The wooden WI Hall was built in the village on land presented to them. It is still going strong and has a thriving membership. The ladies have just been given a lottery grant which they are using to replace the well 'danced upon' floor. Through their many fund raising events money has been raised to refurbish the kitchen. .
