Alan Hull's "The Mocking Horse" is definitely one of the rarest collector's item, so rare that even finding it in any second hand book shop is beyond belief. Since Charisma was taken over by Virgin and the latter by EMI - there even might be no chance to find out about the key question "who the hell owns the copyright now - in 2000?".

The 'intro' of that little book with its 64 pages doesn't help anyone who might have the idea to re-print it (without permission) since it contains the following:

This book is sold subject to the condition that it shall not, by way of trade or otherwise be lent, re-sold, hired out or otherwise circulated without the publisher's prior consent in any form of binding or cover other than that in which it is published and without a similar condition including this condition being imposed on the subsequent purchaser.

Great words! But what if the publisher doesn't exist anymore?

Anyway, it's dedicated To all the nurses of St. Nicholas's Hospital and all the nurses all over the world and the contents consists of 37 poems. The lyrics of two of them are later used within two of his songs "United States of Mind" (for Pipedream) and "One Off Pat" (Flipside of Alan's second solo single 'Numbers'). And finally "Love Part 382" already contains the phrase "Clear White Light".
