Interview with Billy Mitchell with background infos to this recording.

Here's a review coming from the Magic In The Air magazine issue#1 in 1994, entitled "Runaway Success"

It's always refreshing to hear a collection of good songs, simply arranged, performed with clarity and the minimum of fuss. This solo set from the Jack The Lad front man is just that - recorded in the studio but with the lone guitar accompaniment giving it very much a 'live' feel.

Billy Mitchell's voice adapts to a wide range of musical styles, from traditional folk to rock 'n' roll through classic ballads and blues, all of which are represented here, mostly through established songs like Carole King's You've Got A Friend, and classics like Raining In My Heart and Reason To Believe.

Moreover it is a tribute to Mitchell's songwriting talents that his own songs, Rockin' Chair and, Particularly, Turning Into Winter, hold their own in such esteemed company as King, John Hiatt, Mike Nesmith and Rab Noakes.

As a bonus there's an appetizer for Mitch's alter ego as a comedy performer, with Wokin' The Dog, an hilarious ditty extolling the virtues of Teriyaki Terrier, Deep Friendly Poodle Noodles and Rover Pavlova ! Excuse me please.
