A superb night in my hometown of Swansea last night. We arrived at The Grand Theatre about an hour before the show.The lads were chilling out in the bar as we arrived. We took along some Wales t-shirts for the lads, to help them blend in, ha ha! Dave wore his on stage and that made my day.

A very well behaved audience, I guess they must have come from the smart end of town! Finally got to meet Chris Bowen. I got friendly with Chris via this very website. Nice also to bump into Kath and Dave Burmingham from Cardiff. We met this delightful couple at a Martyn Joseph gig and told them that they simply MUST get to a Lindisfarne gig. They hope to be able to make it along to the Cardiff gig at 'The Point'. It is situated close to Techniquest in Cardiff,just alongside Cardiff Bay. If you stand in front of Techniquest and look at the rooftops, you will see a church steeple, thats 'The Point' (Tel:02920 488020)

We (that is The Harry clan) all wore our 'Stamping Ground' t-shirts with pride. Rod was thrilled to see us all wearing them.We seemed to be the only family wearing Lindy/Rod t-shirts. I mentioned to Ray that we were gutted to have missed the recent radio programmes with Rod and Billy. I think that this kind of overlooking won't happen again in a hurry.Not only is it good publicity for new listeners to hear the lads live,but also,for us die-hard fans too! We brag enough to our mates about how great the band is,it would have been brilliant to back our stories up by getting people to tune in.

There was yet another article of the band in my local paper 'The South Wales Evening Post'.The new album 'Promenade' got a plugging.Hooray!! The lads now line up and sign your cd's for you after the gig. This is a good idea as it saves you fighting your way through a crowded bar, trying to hunt the lads down. They also sell more cd's by using this method,so a little Lindy-birdy told me.

A very dramatic backdrop to the stage at The Grand Theatre, with twinkling lights on the curtains behind the band. Made it look like the band were playing outdoors.The lighting was great too,very atmospheric. Billy was wearing a suit on stage. A sight I have never seen before, very smart he looked too. His daughter Sarah looks so much like him, never mind, perhaps she'll outgrow it eh? She was a pretty young thing in fact, very pleasant to chat to. She was working her little socks off selling cd's bless her. Our friends, Jon and Paula were very impressed with the band, with this being their first Lindy gig. They have assured us that it will not be their last. Jon mostly enjoys classical music, but he really enjoyed the gig as the musicianship knocked him bandy.
The new songs went down well as the audience listened politely to the unfamiliar tunes, toes tapping, heads nodding approvingly. The applause after the songs gave the band the feedback they wanted to hear for sure. I love all the songs on 'Promenade', but 'Under the Promenade' keeps playing in my head. Well done Ian Thomson, a cracking song. Lets hope that Ian will continue to have his songs added to future albums. Perhaps more than one song next time eh folks? The first track on 'Promenade', 'This Guitar Never Lies' has a definate Nigel Stonier stamp on it, the way the guitar notes bounce along, lovely! The harmonica playing on 'Candleight' gives us a blast from Lindy-past. To me, it sounds much better played cupped in the hands than being played supported with a neckbrace. I don't know why, it just does. You don't seem to hear huffing and puffing,just a clear sound of the instrument.

I loved the big BOOM on the last song of the night, 'Devil of the North'. It reminded me of the loudest fireworks you hear at these huge fireworks displays. I could feel the boom go through my entire body, awsome!
