The Secure Site

Like any other site, Dabs.com must be secure, before it can gain the trust from the public to actually buy something from them. The site will contain information like:

 

  • Peoples Names
  • Addresses
  • Credit/Debit card details
  • Phone numbers
  • Previous Items Bought
  • Email addresses

How to tell if the site is secure

When asked for personal details, make sure that the page is running through an SSL enabled web server. There are a few ways to tell this:

The web address will start with "https://" make note of the "S" after "http"

There will be a "pad lock" icon on your web browser

There may also be a notice (as shown on Microsoft Internet Explorer):
